Install troubleshooting, common questions, and direct contact — all in one place.
The two things that most often trip people up on a fresh install — and how to clear them in under a minute.
This happens because Voio is a new app and hasn't built up enough Chrome SafeBrowsing reputation yet — not because anything is wrong with the file.
How to clear it:
1. In Chrome's download bar at the bottom, click the small ▲ next to the warning and choose "Keep".
2. If Chrome already deleted the file, go to chrome://downloads, find the Voio download, and click "Keep dangerous file".
3. If that's still blocked, switch to Firefox or Edge for the single download — both accept Voio's installer signature without flagging.
The full install guide walks you through this with screenshots.
Voio is signed with an EV code signing certificate from Passportogo Ltd, but some endpoint protection tools (Sophos in particular) still hold new publishers in quarantine for the first few weeks until they've seen enough traffic.
How to whitelist it:
1. Open your antivirus dashboard → Quarantine or Threats section.
2. Find Voio-Setup.exe (or Voio.exe after install) → click Restore and Allow.
3. Add an exception for %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Voio\ so subsequent updates aren't quarantined.
If your IT team needs documentation to approve Voio for the organisation, contact us and we'll send the signing certificate details.
Most often: Voio's keyboard hook needs to be active. Check the system tray (bottom-right of your taskbar) for the Voio icon.
If the icon is missing, Voio didn't auto-start. Open Voio from the Start menu, then look in Settings → Startup and toggle "Launch on Windows startup" on.
If the icon is there but the dictation key still does nothing, restart Voio from the tray (right-click → Exit, then re-open) — this re-registers the keyboard hook with Windows.
Still stuck? Tell us what happened and we'll diagnose it.
Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → search "Voio" → Uninstall.
Or use the original installer (Voio-Setup.exe) — it includes an uninstall option.
All Voio data is removed from your machine on uninstall. Your account on the server is untouched; to delete that too, see your privacy rights.
