🔒 Voio's core detection runs 100% locally on your device. Your keystrokes are never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. This is a hard architectural guarantee — not a setting.
1. Who We Are
Voio ("Voio", "we", "our", or "us") is a desktop application that automatically detects and corrects text typed on the wrong keyboard language layout. Voio is developed and operated by Eli Elad Cohen, based in Israel.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Voio application and website (Voio.app).
2. What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the service:
- Account information — your email address and encrypted password (when signing up with email), or your name, email address, and profile picture (when signing in with Google). Passwords are never stored in plain text; they are securely hashed by our authentication provider.
- Subscription and trial data — your trial start date, subscription status, and plan tier. This is used to enforce your access level.
- Referral codes — if you joined via a referral link, we record which referral code was used at signup to credit the referring user.
- Anonymous usage analytics — if you opt in during onboarding, we collect anonymized data described in Section 6 below. This data cannot be traced back to you.
3. What We Never Collect
The following data is never collected under any circumstance:
- Keystroke content — the actual characters you type are processed entirely on your device and never leave it
- Clipboard contents — Voio does not read, store, or transmit your clipboard
- Documents or file contents — Voio does not access files on your device
- Browsing history — Voio does not know which websites or applications you visit
- Location data — we do not collect your physical location
- Payment details — payments are processed by third-party providers; we never see or store your card details
4. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to:
- Create and manage your account
- Enforce your trial period and subscription access
- Send important service communications (account confirmation, critical updates)
- Improve Voio's detection accuracy and stability using anonymous analytics
- Respond to your support requests
- Credit referral rewards to the appropriate user
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use your data to build marketing profiles.
5. Third-Party Services
Voio uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase (supabase.com) — our backend provider for authentication and database storage. Data is stored in Supabase's EU (Ireland) region. Supabase is GDPR-compliant and holds a SOC 2 Type II certification. Supabase Privacy Policy.
- Google OAuth — if you choose "Continue with Google", Google authenticates your identity and shares your name, email, and profile picture with us via Google's secure OAuth protocol. Google Privacy Policy.
- LemonSqueezy — our payment processor for subscriptions. We never receive or store your payment card details. LemonSqueezy Privacy Policy.
We share only the minimum data required for each provider to perform its function.
6. Anonymous Analytics
If you opt in to analytics during onboarding, we collect the following data to improve Voio:
- The type of language conversion performed (e.g., English-to-Hebrew, Hebrew-to-English)
- The number of words converted per session (as an aggregate count, not the words themselves)
- Crash reports and error logs (application-level errors only, not keystroke content)
- Performance and stability metrics
All analytics data is anonymous. It is not linked to your account, email, or identity in any way. You can opt out of analytics at any time from the Settings panel inside Voio.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your personal data (email, account details) is permanently deleted within 90 days of your deletion request
- Anonymous analytics data (not linked to you) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement
- Billing records may be retained longer where required by law
To request account deletion, email us at elicohen1000@gmail.com.
8. Your Rights
Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — request that your personal data be deleted
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — opt out of analytics at any time without affecting your service
- Object — object to processing of your personal data in certain circumstances
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at elicohen1000@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
Voio is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or via an in-app notice.
Continued use of Voio after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
